A LEADING heart research charity will spend a day in Halesowen appealing to shoppers to ‘bag it and beat it’.

British Heart Foundation shops’ volunteers will be urging people to donate bags full of unwanted items when they give out Bag It. Beat It. bags in the Cornbow Shopping Centre next Thursday (October 30). Every bag donated will help fund life-saving heart research, helping more than 40,000 children fight congenital heart disease.

The bags can be filled with unwanted clothes, shoes, books, handbags, DVDs, CDs, bric-a-brac and children’s toys and then taken to the charity’s High Street shop.

BHF area manager Cathy Poultney said: “The Bag It. Beat It event is a great idea and provides the perfect opportunity to sort out the cupboards and give away items that you no longer want or need. Please ask friends, family and colleagues to get involved too.”
