A PLANNING application has been submitted to build 19 new houses in Cradley Heath.

Bennington Developments want to built 12 one bedroom back to back dwellings and seven two bedroom semi detached and terrace dwellings in Graingers Lane.

In a report to Sandwell Council a Bennington Developments spokesman said: "The site is a redundant brownfield site that is underused, overgrown and in need to redevelopment.

"The site is surrounded by residential properties and the area is predominantly residential in nature with large areas of employment use to the south."

He added: "The site has been approved for residential development and therefore the principal of residential dwellings at this location has long been established."

"The proposals respond to the need for additional low cost, housing and the current requirement for sustainable development on previously developed, highly accessible locations."

The spokesman added: "It is therefore respectfully requested that Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council consider these proposals favourably."
