AN anti-litter campaigning Cradley councillor has launched a one-man fight against offenders who are trashing a country lane.

Councillor Richard Body has vowed to shame litter louts on YouTube if he captures them in the act on film.

He collected 13 sacks of rubbish from a small section of Wynall Lane South up to the Foxcote Lane junction after receiving seven complaints in a week.

He also spotted evidence of an offender – details of which he passed to Dudley Council’s enforcement team.

Cllr Body has bought a dashboard camera in a bid to catch guilty litterers along Wynall Lane South, which starts in Wollescote, and runs into Lutley Lane, Halesowen.

In an open letter to litter louts he said: “Please think of others. Your selfish actions are taking away valuable council funds needed for other much-needed frontline services.

“I have purchased a dashboard camera and I will have it switched on every time I travel along Wynall Lane South and Lutley Lane.

“If I capture you cowardly littering my area, I will upload you on YouTube.”

In the letter he asks offenders if they get a “cowardly kick” from throwing rubbish out of their vehicle when no-one is looking.

He wonders if they have no respect for the countryside, wildlife and rural residents and whether they are unaware that volunteers are clearing up after them following “unprecedented government cuts to local council budgets”.
