A PLANTING window boxes and hanging baskets workshop on a rundown Halesowen estate attracted more than 15 families.
The event, led by Grow Food 4 Life, was organised as part of the Our Place programme designed to spruce up the Highfields estate.
Community organiser Anna Rogozinska said people planted mixes of herbs and flowers and were given tips about growing and how to make use of the herbs.
She said tenants took away their hanging baskets to put up, but are waiting to hear from Dudley Council about the best way to mount the boxes.
On Sunday, abandoned trolleys will be retrieved from the estate and decorated for a parade into Halesowen town centre and a ceremonial hand-over to Asda and Lidl as part of the Our Place action.
