A SCULPTURE by world renowned Cradley Heath artist Tim Tolkien is going under the hammer next week.

The Beast, a Staffordshire bull terrier made from tin cans, was created by the artist during the Locked In Festival at the Hollybush and proceeds will go towards arts collective Cradley Heath Creative.

Dominic Horton, from Cradley Heath Creative, said: "We are very grateful to Tim for creating and donating The Beast which fittingly is a Staffie as they are born and bred in Cradley Heath."

Mr Horton branded the festival a success after hundreds of people flocked to the Hollybush.

He said: "Considering it is the first time that we have put on the festival it was a resounding success and fantastic to see such a variety of local talent showcasing their work, not only the 11 hours of performances on stage but also the art, films and workshops.

"Both rooms were full for the duration of the day and I want to thank everyone who contributed to the festival and all who attended the event."

The auction takes place at 8pm on Thursday at the Holly Bush, Newtown Lane, Cradley Heath, before the weekly comedy night at the pub.
