HALESOWEN FC Old Boys are planning to roll back the years this weekend in memory of legendary Black Country funnyman Tommy Mundon.

A bumper crowd is expected for the charity fun day and football match between Halesowen FC Old Boys and Stourbridge FC All Stars which takes place on Sunday, April 19 at Stourbridge FC's Amblecote ground.

The event is being staged in memory of Halesowen funnyman Tommy Mundon and Dinky Pountney - the father of current Glassboys chairman Andy Pountney.

Money raised from the extravaganza will go to Parkinsons UK and the Dudley and District branch of Parkinsons.

Centre stage will be taken by a match between Stourbridge All Stars and Legends XI managed by former Glassboys favourite Adam Bastable, who will be taking on their rivals from Halesowen Town, with former Yeltz boss John Morris in charge.

Kick off takes place at 1-30pm.

There will also be live music taking place during the afternoon from a line-up which comprises of: Interior Castle, Felicity Cox, Matthew Socci, Esther Turner and Crowded House tribute band Crowded Out.

Aston Villa's FA Cup semi-final game will be shown live in the clubhouse.

Then later in the day, there will be more live music featuring Bad Company tribute band Free Spirit, Got the T Shirt, Oasis Tribute band OKASIS, Voodoo and Ska band Rudi and the Revolvers.

Stourbridge chairman Andy Pountney confirmed: "We've staged a charity match for the past five years now and managed to raise in the region of £15,000 for charities such at Cal4You, Mary Stevens Hospice and Sunfield Children's Home.

"My dad had Parkinsons - just like Tommy Mundon. I grew up in Halesowen and I knew some of Tommy's family quite well, so it seemed fitting that this year's charity should go towards Parkinsons, both locally and nationally - especially as Parkinsons Awareness Week starts on Monday, April 20.

"We've already had a £2,000 donation from the FA and another £2,000 pledged from local business, so we've made a good start this time and I would ask everyone to come along and support us."

There will be plenty of children's entertainment including a bouncy castle and face painting.

They'll also be an auction with prizes including a signed shirt from motor racing star Jenson Button and a VIP visit to the racing stables of top National Hunt trainer Charlie Mann.

Gates open at 12 noon and admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children with under five year olds admitted free.
