POLICE discovered a cannabis factory after a burglary was reported at a commercial unit in Halesowen.
But the raid has resulted in the electricity supply being disconnected at the multi-occupancy premises, while police dismantle the operation – which could affect companies for 10 days.
About 600 plants were recovered from a unit in Hereward Rise on Tuesday.
A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “The cannabis disposal team is dismantling what is there and looking for forensic opportunities.
“No arrests have been made and it could be 10 days before the electricity supply is restored.”
She said CCTV was also being examined by detectives.
A spokesman for Western Power Distribution said: “Acting upon a police request and in the interests of safety, we removed the fuses at the property to isolate the electricity supply.
“Further investigations and electrical safety checks will now take place before the supply can be reconnected.
“In terms of why one meter was supplying the unit’s multiple occupants, this would be a matter for the building’s owner.”
