ROMSTOCK is returning for the fourth year next month as the music extravaganza has become a firm fixture in the Summer festival season.

On Saturday, June 13, singers, bands and poets will descend on Romsley for an all day musical extravaganza which has got bigger with every year.

The first Romstock was held as part of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations in 2012 but this year’s festival will have three times as many bands as the first event.

Romstock organisers are hoping for a repeat of last year's success when the sun shone and over 1,000 revellers enjoyed the entertainment.

Founder Mark Moran said: "The first Romstock was a washout but still was a success and we have gone from strength to strength ever since.

"Romsley is the perfect venue for a mini festival like Romstock, the setting is idyllic and if the sun shines it really is the perfect modern English Summer's Day complete with a huge PA system, great music and a beer tent."

Romstock is a none-for-profit event and any profits made are ploughed into community projects within Romsley.

Mr Moran said: "I think the success of Romstock has really inspired others to see what can be done with a bit of hard work and imagination, I think we have spawned other events like the return of Halesowen Carnival and the creation of Hagfest in Hagley.

"As well as the music we will have lots more stalls selling all types of everything which will give the day a real festival feel and a beer tent which is always popular, as well as some great food available."

He added: "It really is a great family day out and is the perfect environment for young and old to party together."

Birmingham punk poet Spoz will be returning again to be the master of ceremonies and the fun will start at 1pm and continue until 8pm.
