A NEW musical festival to showcase Halesowen College students' musical talents has been hailed a success.
Students in tributes to Jamiroquai, The Specials, The Beatles, Def Leppard, Stereophonics, Thin Lizzy, The 1975, Duran Duran, Rod Stewart and Fleetwood Mac took to the stage to perform to a live audience while being graded for their qualification.
The Mayfly Festival, held at Old Halesonians Rugby Club, also featured performances from dance and drama students while media students filmed the event and photography students captured the day on camera.
Steve McCarthy, organiser and music lecturer, said: "This was a fantastic event both for the students and for the audience. We hope to make it bigger and event better next year."
