A PETITION calling for traffic calming to slow down speeding motorists in Cradley Heath has collected more than 300 signatures.
David Taylor, who launched the campaign to slow traffic in Trejon Road, Harcourt Road and Codsall Road, said he was “very pleased” with the response.
He was prompted to start the 337-named petition fearing lives were at risk by cars smashing the 20mph speed limit.
The 31-year-old, of The Parade, blamed motorists for failing to break coming down the steep Trejon Road to the junction with Harcourt Road and Codsall Road and of accelerating too hard as they drive up the hill.
“More people wanted to sign the petition after I had sent it to Sandwell’s highways department and I hope the council will take action.”
