AN Oldbury robber who targeted two teenagers out walking their dog has been put behind bars for five years.
Michael Taylor, aged 24, was with two accomplices in Warley Woods when one of them grabbed a 17-year-old boy by the neck before pressing something sharp into his skin.
One of the men demanded the teenager hand over his mobile telephone and he was punched in the face before the gang also took a phone belonging to the 17-year-old girl.
Wolverhampton Crown Court was told the young girl had earlier seen the three men loitering by a parked car before the robbery and she had the presence of mind to take the registration number of the vehicle.
Mark Phillips, prosecuting, said police officers were able to track down Taylor of Clay Lane, Langley and he was quickly arrested.
Taylor admitted two charges of robbery while maintaining he had not been the man who put his arm around the neck of the teenage boy.
Jas Mann, for Taylor, described his client as “impressionable” and said it was accepted it was clearly a “joint enterprise” between the three robbers.
