THE untold story of paramilitary violence in Colombia is being told at the Halesowen Global Justice Group next week.

Jill Stone from Christian Aid will be speaking to the group on Wednesday at 7.30pm at The United Church, Hagley Road.

The speaker spent time in Colombia living with a community displaced by brutal paramilitaries and saw how the insecurity of war is used to take the land off the people there.

Chaz Stoll, from the group, said: "We are extremely lucky to hear an eye witness account from Jill Stone on what is happening.

"We know that Colombia has a reputation for being the most dangerous country in the world for trades unionists, but to hear an eye witness account is not only interesting, but a privilege."

The chairman of the meeting will be Ernest Cruchley, refreshments will be served and entrance is free.
