ARTY types from Halesowen and Oldbury are showing off their paintings in an exhibition running until mid February.

The 10 members of the Maurice Ryman (correct) Art Group have mustered a total of 55 paintings in water colours and acrylics for their annual exhibition, which began at the start of November at Langley Library in Barrs Street, Oldbury.

"We've got paintings of everything from animals and flowers to landscapes," said group spokesman Carol Biddle.

"Our group has been going for about 30 years and more recently it has been called the Maurice Ryman group after one of the founder members, who died in around the year 2000.

"We meet to paint together every Monday from 7 to 9pm at the Salvation Army hall in Merton Close, Langley.

"But although we are based in Langley, most of our members come from the Halesowen and Oldbury area.

"We would welcome some new members and would encourage anyone interested to come to Langley Library to view our exhibition."

Anyone interested in more information about the group should contact Carol on 0121 421 3571 or David Taylor on 0121 550 6749.
