AN appeal is being made for musicians to boost the ranks of the Halesowen Orchestra.
The orchestra is hoping to swell the numbers in time for its 30th anniversary concert at the Cornbow Hall on Saturday July 2.
The concert will feature Dvorak’s Carnival Overture, Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5.
Orchestra chairman Julie Billingham said they would welcome additional string, wind and brass players.
Previous orchestral experience is preferred and string players should have reached a standard of grade seven or eight, whilst wind and brass players need to be at least grade six.
Mrs Billingham said: “Musicians don’t necessarily have to have taken those grades, but they need to be at that standard in order to cope with the level of music.”
