A FED up Halesowen motorist and cyclist claims Dudley Council is taking too long to fill potholes.

Robert Gorman said some had been left for months even though they had been identified by the council.

He said: “I think that the council need to be aware that putting a yellow ring round the hole doesn't constitute a repair.

“There are holes that have had yellow rings round them for months. They need to be made aware they need to fill them in.

“As a motorist and a cyclist the state of the roads is awful and I really think the problem should be highlighted before they get worse or become irreparable.”

Mr Gorman said he was particular concerned about potholes in Albert Road, Stourbridge Road and Huntingtree Road.

Alan Lunt, strategic director for place directorate at Dudley Council, said the potholes in those roads would be repaired in the future.

He said: “We have inspection teams who identify road defects such as potholes, with the most severe cases highlighted for urgent attention.

“Clearly, we have to prioritise more serious problems above others but we are working to deal with as many as we can. In this instance, they will be added to a future programme of work.”
