A BRAND new art gallery in Cradley Heath is preparing to showcase it first exhibition next week.

Review, a retrospective of etchings, drawings and short films by Fran Wilde is at The Art Yard, Reddal Hill Road.

The exhibition runs from Tuesday until Saturday, July 2 and is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm and Saturdays, 11am to 2pm.

The Art Yard opened in April, curated by Louise Blakeway and Warren McCabe-Smith.

Ms Wilde said: “The gallery is a fantastic addition to the arts landscape around Cradley Heath.

“This show is giving me a great opportunity to look again at some of the work that I have produced over the past twenty years and to share it with local people who are interested in art.”

Fran Wilde studied Fine Art in Birmingham in the 1980s and went on to a career in gallery education.

She moved live in Cradley Heath four years ago, and her decision to return to the West Midlands had much to do with its lively arts scene.

There is a special event to meet the artist on Sunday 19 June, 11am to 3pm.
