TWO former Halesowen College music students have signed a touring and record deal with their band Youth Man.
Kaila Whyte and Marcus Perks, together with bassist Miles Cocker, have penned a deal with critically acclaimed UK independent label Venn Records.
The band’s new release, the Wax EP, is out now.
They were already signed to international booking agency Primary Talent to represent their live work after their debut single Heavy Rain outstripped the band's expectations, racking up multiple BBC Radio One plays by DJ Zane Lowe and their first EP, Bad Weather, was hailed by the NME as "five tracks of raw and wreckless thrills".
College student experience director Alex Griffin said: “We are very pleased to hear that Youth Man are enjoying success in the music industry.
“Kaila - lead vocals and guitar - and Marcus – drums - are highly talented and committed individuals who undertook a level three music programme at the college and we are pleased to see they are capitalising on the skills and experiences gained during their time with us.”
