TALENTED dancers from Halesowen are celebrating after they helped England clinch the Dance World Cup in Jersey.

Youngsters from Jordon School of Dance helped England beat off competition from 33 nations to be named best in the world.

The team came home with a haul of one gold, two silver and a bronze medal after the pint-sized dancers performed various disciplines.

Sian Bradley, from the school, said: "It's been an amazing experience , all the children danced their hearts out representing their country.

"To be able to represent your country is the pinnacle of anyone's career, to be able to do this at the ages between six and 19 is an unbelievable achievement."

She added: "Congratulations to all schools on team England and a massive thank you to Jo Arnett for for all her hard work, we loved every minute of it."

The gold medal winners were in the six to nine-years-old Show Off category with Lola-May O'Sullivan Millichamp, Georgia Brown, Olivia Brown, Lily-May Nolan, Skye Mallet, Niamh Crowley and Bobbie-May Bradley clinching a record 91 points.

The two silver medals were for the mini group acro-dance with for children aged between six and nine for their performance Wind it up and in the nine to 13-year-old category for their dance Belle of Belfast.

The bronze medal was won for the trio Georgia Brown, Lily-May Nolan and Lola-May O'Sullivan Millichamp who clinched 89 points for their Dancing Fool routine.

Parent Jo Ashton said: "Amazing results, the commitment and hard work shined through in their performances and the talent and passion in the team is obviously world class.

"As well as the dancers everyone at the Jordon School of Dance should be proud of themselves."

The school is based at Manor House, Manor Way, and teach dance, gymnastics, singing and drama to youngsters over the age of two and a half.
