THE Black Country Housing Group has recruited a new manager for its state-of-the-art residential care home in Halesowen which is set to open in September.

Sandra Roper, registered care manager for Gower Gardens, has over 30 years experience in the care sector and will be in charge for 52 staff.

She said: “It’s really exciting to set up and manage a new home right from the very beginning. I am incredibly passionate about providing quality care and thrilled to welcome our experienced staff team who also share my enthusiasm.

"We can’t wait to show off the amazing facilities at Gower Gardens and know that the home will provide a vibrant and active environment for residents, whilst engaging with the local community. I am eager to welcome the first residents to their new home at Gower Gardens”

Set within landscaped sensory gardens for residents and their visitors to enjoy, Gower Gardens will provide a home for older people with care and support needs.

The new facility will also provide specialist dementia care and include 66 fully en-suite bedrooms with modern facilities such as cinema facilities, wi-fi and flat screen TVs.

The property has been built on behalf of BCHG by LNT Carehome developments, the leading care home developer and is the first partnership between the two organisations.

BCHG has a longstanding track record delivering care across Birmingham and the Black Country.

As well as providing domiciliary care to older people, it also currently manages six independent living schemes for people aged over 55, as well as supported living services for people with learning disabilities.
