A KIND-hearted Quinton woman is gearing up for 300-mile cycle ride from London to Pudsey in Yorkshire to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

Rebecca Millington will join 59 colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group for next month’s Tour de Pudsey with the aim of raising £150,000 for the annual appeal, completing the route in three and a half days.

She was inspired to take part as she is approaching her 30th birthday this year and sees it as a personal challenge, hoping to raise £2,500 through fundraising activities including cake sales and raffles.

The customer experience manager at the Colmore Row, Birmingham branch said: “I have been a keen cyclist for many years now but even so, the thought of some of the hills we will be climbing on route to Pudsey is quite intimidating.

“I am going to focus on the impact that our fundraising will have on BBC Children in Need to help motivate our team to complete the challenge together.”
