A BUNGLING Rowley Regis rogue, who was caught twice on camera as he tried to sell booty stolen in burglaries in the area, has been locked up for another 20 months.

Lee Bastable was recognised by police officers as he tried to cash in property including an X-Box at the CEX store at the Merry Hill Centre.

The 33-year-old was recognised again when he went to trade in stolen property at the Cash Converters shop, Blackheath, Howard Searle, prosecuting, told Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Police found more stolen property at his home in Charles Avenue and he admitted three charges of handling stolen goods.

He also pleaded guilty to attempted burglary after trying to break into a house in Beeches Road, Blackheath, but made off when he realised he was being watched by a neighbour.

Judge Marcus Tregilgas-Davey, who was told Bastable had an "extensive" criminal record and was currently serving nearly three years for charges including burglary, ruled the 20-month jail term should run consecutively.

Tom Walkling, for Bastable, said he had committed the offences before the court prior to his last sentence but at the time they were still being investigated by police.
