MARY Stevens Hospice has scored a donation of £3,600 after the recent success of a charity 5-a-side football tournament in Rowley Regis

The Dudley Building Society tournament, held at Goals in Cakemore Road, saw 10 teams participate and raise funds for the Stourbridge-based hospice – the society’s ‘Charity of the Year’.

Teams from ECA Group, FBC Manby Bowdler, Technology Management, George Green LLP, Deloitte, Ciphr, The Partnership, Copthorne Merry Hill, KPMG as well as a the hospice itself went head-to-head in the competitively fought competition.

Raj Bains, head of legal and secretarial at Dudley Building Society, said: “A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who sponsored and supported the event.

“Mary Stevens Hospice carry out such amazing work and events such as this will hopefully contribute to them continuing the delivery of what is such an essential service for so many.”

The Hagley Road charity offer specialist care, free of charge for people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout Dudley borough, as well as dedicated support for their families and carers.

“The hospice team thoroughly enjoyed taking part, and it was wonderful to see so many different businesses come together in support of the families we care for in the Dudley borough.”
