FASHION students at Halesowen College have been working with designer Adrian Johnson to create clothes for real life clients.
Adrian is from Ashwood Leathers, a Birmingham based Fashion Company, who works with companies such as Barbour, TK Maxx, Zara and Celtic and Co.
Students have been working on a design based unit that helps them understand the design cycle and how it works in industry.
Adrian set the students projects for real customers and came into College every other week to discuss their progress. They have completed their designs and they have been taken by the company to present to their client buyers.
Some of the garments will be taken forward to be sampled in factories in the Far East and may go into production.
Natalie Johnston, fashion and textiles course leader at Halesowen College, said: “Adrian has been really impressed with the students’ commitment and talent and has offered work experience to the group.
“We are delighted he could work with us and he gave students a great insight into the fashion industry.”
