A MOTORIST had a lucky escape this morning (Monday) when she crashed into a telegraph pole on a "notoriously slippy" Halesowen road.

West Midlands ambulance Service were called to Windsor Road at 7.35pm after the early morning prang.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called at 7.35 after a car hit a telegraph pole, airbags were deployed.

"A 23-year-old lady was complaining of leg pain and was shaken, she did not want to be taken to hospital and discharged at the scene and was taken home by her family."

News reader Daniel Bevan, who took pictures from the scene, said: "Windsor Road is notoriously slippy when there is a frost like this morning.

"An ambulance attended the scene and the driver was checked over.

He added: "The road was closed off by a police car for roughly forty minutes."
