DRAMA unfolded on Stourbridge High Street minutes ago after police were believed to have tasered a man.
Eye-witnesses claim they heard the click of the police weapon and saw the man drop to the floor before policemen jumped on top of him.
A crowd quickly gathered to witness the events play out as more police officers rushed to the scene.
An eye-witness, who did not want to be named, said: "We heard shouting and then saw a man arguing with the police.
"Then we heard the click of the taser and saw the man drop to the floor. He looked in agony."
An ambulance arrived at the scene within ten minutes.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police were called to High Street, Stourbridge, at around 3.15pm today (April 4) to reports of a man with a broken glass bottle threatening to hurt himself.
"He was tasered due to concerns he could injure himself or the public."
"A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence."
