A CAR has burst into flames on the M5 southbound near Bromsgrove this morning (Thursday, April 13).
The incident took place at around 6.40am and closed one lane on the M5 southbound between J4 A38 (Bromsgrove / Stourbridge) and J4A M42.
The car was on the hard shoulder but one lane was closed to keep traffic away from the flames, leading to delays up to junction 3 at Halesowen.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service say they received 19 calls on the incident from the public in 12 minutes.
West Midlands Fire services and two fire crews from Bromsgrove attended the scene and extinguished the flames.
Highways England confirmed all lanes re-opened by 7.15am.
