VOLUNTEERS are needed to help marshal a 5km Christmas themed fun run in Cradley.

The Friends of Homer Hill Park and St Peters Church are planning to hold the fun run – which will take place around the park and the church grounds – during the morning of Saturday, November 25.

For a small entrance fee, fun runners can use the event to raise money for a special cause, while people can also take part simply for the joy of running and receiving a medal.

One of the event organisers, Councillor Richard Body, is calling for people to help him marshal the race.

Cllr Body said: “For this special event in Cradley to take place, I need help. We need at least 30 race marshals.

“We are looking for people willing to come along for a half-an-hour safety briefing session and give a maximum of two to three hours of their time on the morning of November 25.

“During the race the marshals will need to watch for traffic, give directions and encouragement to the runners and be there just in case of an accident or injury to a runner.

“If you can help, please text me on 07951 482123.”

Further details about the run will be announced in September.
