ADULTS wanting to learn to swim are being offered lessons at discounted rates at Halesowen Leisure Centre next month.

Lessons already run every Tuesday at the Dudley Council-owned site – costing £5.20 per session – but people booking a course of six lessons from Tuesday, October 3, will receive the last lesson free of charge, saving more than 15 per cent.

The six-week course will run from weekly until November 7 and costs £26, while a further 50 per cent discount is available to Options+ leisure discount holders.

The leisure centre hosts two different sessions – a beginners class running from 7.15pm to 7.45pm and an improvers session from 7.45pm to 8.15pm.

For more information call the centre on 01384 812800 or visit www.dudley.gov.uk/sport.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for economic development, said: “Swimming is a life skill that we feel everyone should be confident in.

“Our experienced instructor is on hand to help beginners gain confidence and new skills in the water. We also welcome swimmers that want to improve their stroke technique or maybe just pick up a few tips from our instructor.”
