CRADLEY Heath will be the latest area to sprinkle a bit of festive cheer on its streets as the annual Christmas lights are switched on this weekend.

From 3pm to 7pm on Saturday (December 2), the High Street will be full of activities to help people get into the swing of Christmas and kick off the festivities.

The stars from Frozen will then help Deputy Mayor of Sandwell and Rowley councillor Susan Eaves perform the switch on at 5pm.

Among the activities are a fun fair for kids, market stalls, and the chance to support local charities.

Cradley Heath traders have invited Santa to his grotto in the precinct and organised vintage stalls and entertainment, while shops will also feature their Christmas goodies and food during the event.

An open air stage will showcase up-and-coming singers from Sandwell’s Coneygre Youth Arts Centre, as well as local performers and buskers from St Michael’s School who will entertain the crowds along High Street.

To allow the event to go off without a hitch, road closures will be in place along High Street from 1pm to 8pm on Saturday.
