THE opening of a new shop in Halesowen which describes itself as an “eclectic mix of fabulousness” has been celebrated.

Tabouki Laine, which used to be based in Cradley Heath, recently relaunched in a new location in Hagley Road to much acclaim.

Owner Kitty Hadley said it had always been a dream of hers and her late mother Elaine to open a shop together.

Kitty said: “I’ve opened the shop in honour of my mom who passed away October 2016. She was my world and after she died I just thought it’s now or never.

“I had the shop in Cradley Heath for about 11 months, but I’ve always wanted to open in Halesowen, and the reception we’ve had has been absolutely magnificent.

“We had so many people who came to the opening say how different the shop is to the others that are already in Halesowen and it’s just what the town needs.

“The move has gone really well and we have a small group of regular customers from the old shop who are still visiting.”

Kitty has incorporated her mom’s name into the title of the shop to let her memory live on.

She added: “It’s a mix of my Tabouki – the name of the doll I had when I was a child – and Elaine, making it Tabouki Laine.

“We’re a boutique that sells all sorts of stuff, including vintage bits, painted furniture, things for the home. We describe it as an eclectic mix of fabulousness.”
