THE positive contributions individuals and groups make to the community is set to be celebrated at the upcoming Sandwell Volunteer Awards.
Volunteer Centre Sandwell is helping to recognise the work of deserving people who give up their time to make a difference.
This year’s awards – which will take place on Saturday, June 2 – marks 40 years of celebrating volunteering in the borough.
Jean Taylor, chief executive officer of Volunteer Centre Sandwell, said. “Voluntary groups and individuals are vital to all aspects of community life, however, they sometimes aren’t recognized for the huge difference they make.”
Nominations can still be made for the award until Monday, April 16, by members of the public who have been helped personally by a group, or witnessed the benefits of volunteering work in their community.
