A COMMUNITY campaigner is inviting Cradley residents to a public meeting this week to discuss EE’s plans to install an '80ft' telephone mast in the area.

Several concerned residents have been in touch with the area’s UKIP representative Mitchell Bolton about the proposed communications pole, which could be placed on a small section of land at the corner of Whynot Street and Foxcote Lane.

The mast, which is housed on Chaucer House, in Severn Road, is currently being updated and worries have been raised over the proposed new location.

Mitchell, who has sent out letters to neighbouring properties, said: “Where they plan to site the mast is a very small piece of land probably only about a 25ft to 30ft triangle.

“The height of it is about 80ft – but the lady's house it’s due to be put in front of is only around 37ft high. It will completely tower over and obscure her house!

“I have spoken to Dudley Council who said it’s just in early planning stages, but I don't want it going past that stage so I’m looking at alternative sites.”

Residents who would like to have their say about the mast can attend the public meeting on Wednesday (April 11) from 6.30pm at the Whynot Inn.
