CRADLEY Heath Creative have put a call out to artists, performers and crafts people ahead of their fourth Arts Festival this summer.

The group are urging people to put their work in public view, share their skills in workshops and get the recognition they deserve for their talents during the event on June 9.

Each year the festival has increased in size – and 2018 is no exception. There will be 13 local venues hosting events with 18 arts and crafts groups taking part.

The festival is also highly inclusive with professionals and amateurs rubbing shoulders.

Lizzy Lee, Cradley Heath Creative’s secretary, said: “A mass of creative people live and work around here and the Arts Festival is a great opportunity for networking and discovering like-minded people.

“We are really interested in finding any young artists and performers who want a bit of profile.”

Among the events being held alongside the festival will be an opportunity for independent visual artists and performers to take part in a ‘Landscape Challenge’, using any medium, at Haden Hill Park on Sunday, June 3, between 2 and 5pm.

There is an open exhibition at The Art Yard on Redall Hill Road between May 28 and June 23, while musicians, spoken word and comedy artists have the stage at the Holly Bush Pub and Arts Centre, Newtown Lane, from 11am to 11pm on Saturday, June 9.

There are workshop slots for people who want to share their creative skills and interests with the public at the Holly Bush from 11am to 5pm on the same day, and the Art Yard is showing any art works and film of performance made during the festival in a special exhibition from June 25 to 30.

The full Arts Festival programme is currently being confirmed and will be released next month.
