MP James Morris has paid a visit to a Halesowen disability centre to hand over his final fundraising figure following his London Marathon run.

The Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP raised a grand sum of £3,252.22 for Halas Homes after completing the capital course in a time of six hours, one minute and 42 seconds.

The money raised by James will go towards the refurbishment of the Wassell Road charity’s dated day centre meeting room – which was built in 1967.

This is where people with learning disabilities meet daily to take part in various activities including dance, drama, music, art and poetry.

James said: “I am very pleased that I managed to get round the whole route, in what was one of the hottest ever London Marathon’s.

“It was absolutely gruelling at times, but I was committed to getting over that finish line.

“Thank you to everyone who sponsored me, and I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements Halas Homes will be making with this money.”
