HALESOWEN’S St John Ambulance cadet team are on the hunt for new young members to join their long-established group.

Young people have been part of the town’s cadet unit for the past 75 years, and as part of the anniversary year they are looking to recruit new members.

Boys and girls from 10-years-old are being invited to join the unit, which meets every Wednesday from 7pm at their headquarters, located off the entrance to Halesowen Athletic and Cycling Club in Manor Way.

Judith Morris, unit manager, said: “No one should suffer from the lack of first aid, and our cadets are trained in lifesaving skills to enable them to help in an emergency situation.

“The skills you learn in first aid could save someone’s life, plus we offer a training programme in a variety of subjects and social events.”

For more information about the group, pop along on Wednesday nights or call Judith on 01384 561020.
