Halesowen firm Sandvik has brought festive cheer to the town centre by sponsoring a Christmas tree again this year.
The firm has sponsored the tree, which is in a new planter, by Wilkinsons for the last 40 years.
The mayor of Dudley councillor Ray Burston unveiled this year's specimen with Mike Walker of Sandvik on Monday (December 1).
Pupils from schools across Halesowen sang Christmas carols accompanied by school brass and wind bands.
Cllr Burston said: “I'm sure shoppers and traders will agree the tree looks magnificent in the centre of Halesowen, and I am delighted Sandvik have helped make this possible.
“It was lovely to see the school children singing and performing in the town centre too.
"What a fantastic start to Christmas.”
Schools which performed during the unveiling include Earls, Leasowes and Windsor High Schools as well as Our Lady & St Kenelm RC, Manor Way, Huntingtree, Lutley and Newfield Park Primary.
The new planter has also been funded by Sandvik and will be used as a multi-tiered planter in the summer.
