ONE hundred pallets went up in flames in the yard of a Cradley Heath firm this morning (Sunday).
The fire started at 1.38am at TSM Pallets Ltd in Newlyn Road.
Thirty firefighters tackled the flames preventing the blaze from spreading to a nearby factory.
They also managed to stop the fire spreading across the yard, which contained 1,000 wooden pallets.
West Midlands Fire Service group commander Nigel Soden said: "Crews did extremely well to prevent this turning into a bigger incident than it already was."
Mr Soden said damage was caused to the front of the nearby factory but fire crews from Cradley Heath, Tipton, Dudley, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Aston and Oldbury worked "extremely quickly" to stop the building going up in flames.
Firefighters, who worked throughout the night, were still at the scene this morning dampening the area down.
Mr Soden said a fire investigation unit had attended to determine the cause of the fire, which is not yet known.
