Colley Gate charity night raises cash for cot death research

A CHARITY evening in Colley Gate raised more than £2,500 for research into cot death.

The event, at Wilson Hall, was organised by Kerry Harper who lost her son to the syndrome when he was just three months 21 years ago.

“We raised way over what we thought we would. It was a Wednesday night so we didn’t really expect that many people, but it went fantastically well,” she said.

There were performances from three singers and a DJ as well as a raffle and an auction, including a Manchester United football which went for £300.

Mrs Harper, of Drews Holloway, Halesowen will forward £2,527 to the Foundation for the Study of Infant Death from April’s event.
