Saddles and riding tack stolen from stables at Romsley
4:26pm Friday 15th June 2012 in Local
TWO saddles and other riding tack worth more than £500 were stolen from stables and a caravan at Romsley near Halesowen during a break-in.
Thieves took a Wintec 5000 saddle worth £475 and an Indian leather saddle worth £35 from a property off Fieldhouse Lane between 4.30pm on Sunday June 10 and 2.30pm the following day.
They also took a blue and brown English leather bridle worth £80, a black English leather diamante bridle worth £30 and a Decathlon English leather bridle worth £17 during the burglary.
PC Simeon Darrall Jones, of West Mercia Police said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity at that location between the relevant times, and in particular any vehicles they saw there in unusual circumstances.
"The stolen items are quite likely to be sold on so we would appeal to anyone involved in horse riding or equestrian retail to get in touch with us if they are offered anything like this and suspect it is not from a legitimate source."
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Darrall Jones at Bromsgrove Police Station on 101, quoting incident reference 438-S-110612, or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
