THE teenager who is fighting for his life after being brutally attacked in Halesowen has been named locally as Conor Southall.
The Oldbury Academy pupil was found unconscious on Cocksheds Lane near to Malt Mill Lane and Olive Lane after what was reported as an altercation with three men.
The police originally said that Conor is 16-years-old but friends claim he is 17-years-old and have already been leaving messages of support for him and his family on Facebook.
Kayleigh Colee said: “Conor we all know you're as strong as anything and you can pull through this, you will be fine mate, you’re a good lad and don't deserve what happened, just wake up you will be fine.”
Alex Langston added: “Conor, we all know that you will pull through mate, stay strong for me and the rest of your friends and family once again stay strong mate.“ Friends say Conor had been watching the England game before he was attacked, police were alerted to the incident at around 9.10pm after a member of the public dialled 999 to say they thought there had been a fight and that a man was on the floor with people around him.
Officers were immediately dispatched and found the victim lying unconscious. They provided first aid until the ambulance service arrived to transport the boy to hospital.
Anyone with information which may help the investigation should call detectives on 101. Alternatively, people who do not want to speak with police officers directly can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
