A GROUP of young Muslims from a Halesowen mosque have been out on the streets clearing litter.
Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association took part in the community event on Wednesday evening as part of their Adopt a Street campaign involving regular litter picks and environmental improvements.
Halesowen North councillor Jeff Hill led the group from the Baitul Ghafoor mosque, Long Lane, with litter-picking equipment provided by Dudley Council .
Local charity and volunteer co-ordinator Syed Salmaan Shah said: "Holding events like these are a great way to establish a successful multicultural society.
“When times arise where people from all faiths and backgrounds come together it enables us all to increase our knowledge of who we all are.
“With this knowledge comes tolerance and through tolerance comes something that people over the years have sacrificed their lives trying to achieve, which is peace”.
