Armed raiders target Halesowen Tesco Express

ARMED robbers raided a Tesco Express in Halesowen last night (Tuesday).

Three masked thieves raided Tesco Express on Coombs Road at around 9pm.

One man, armed with an axe, stood guard at the entrance of the shop, while two others jumped the counter before stealing a large amount of cigarettes.

The trio escaped in a white car and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Mike Greenland, from the Serious Acquisitive Crime Team in Sandwell, said: "We are interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was in the area at the time and remembers seeing the vehicle or the men."
