Businesses urged to help the borough bonfire go with a bang
5:00pm Sunday 23rd September 2012 in Local
IT’S that time of year again when businesses are being urged to help the annual borough bonfire and firework show.
The Dudley Council-organised event at Himley Hall is taking place on Saturday November 3 and officers are appealing for unbroken, wooden pallets to help build the towering bonfire centrepiece.
Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:“Himley Hall and Park’s fireworks and bonfire display is the largest council run display in the country and it is very popular with our residents.
“Every year the event is tremendously well supported by local companies who help us build the community bonfire and I hope lots of people will come forward with pallets this year to help us make it better than ever before.”
The council can only accept wooden pallets and is not able to take garden rubbish, tree trunks or old furniture. It is also unable to collect any donations.
Companies which are able to deliver pallets should contact Himley Hall on 01384 817817.
