A NEW mobile unit which will help Bromley residents with consumer problems will be launched next month.
The consumer advice surgery run by Bromley Council's trading standards department opens for business on September 7.
It will be located at the Cotmandene Crescent car park, St Paul's Cray and will open every Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
The new service follows the success of a pilot project earlier this year and will tackle problems with faulty goods or services, credit difficulties or clocked cars.
Trading Standards senior customer advisor Matthew Smith said: “I am really pleased we have been able to bring a more accessible and approachable consumer advice service to St Paul's Cray.
“Our residents wanted a local service and we were happy to oblige. One of the real reasons for giving consumer advice is to provide a more level playing field for both consumer and trader alike.
“If you are having trouble over the purchase of faulty goods of services, or had poor workmanship from a rogue builder, we can help.”
Bromley residents can get further information on trading standards or consumer advice by calling the trading standards team at Bromley's Civic Centre on 020 8313 4800.
