Halesowen Library is hosting a 1970s themed murder mystery evening this month.

It is being held on Wednesday September 18 in the library’s Shenstone Theatre. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. The evening will finish at around 9pm.

Award-winning crime writer Ann Cleeves has produced the murder mystery for libraries based on her Vera Stanhope novel ‘The Glass Room’, although the ending is different from that in the book.

The event is open to all members of the public and visitors are invited to dress up in 70s style.

Councillor Stuart Turner, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said:

“Halesowen Library is a great venue for a murder mystery evening.  We held a similar event at Dudley Library a while ago; there was a great turn out and it proved to be a really popular evening with visitors.  With this in mind we hope to build on its success and create a fun and entertaining evening for those who take part.”

Tickets are £3 and include light refreshments. For further information and ticket availability contact Halesowen Library on 01384 812980 or www.dudley.gov.uk/libraries
