People in Dudley are being warned to be vigilant about bogus mobility equipment sellers.
safe & sound, Dudley’s community safety partnership warn they usually target vulnerable and elderly people in the community, calling to arrange an appointment before visiting their home.
The caller will often claim to be working with social services and say a mobility assessment is due when they are actually companies who will send sales people to your home. They pressure people
into buying equipment they could get for far less elsewhere.

Councillor Tim Wright, cabinet member responsible for community safety, said: “These scams are increasingly common and it’s important residents,
particularly those who are vulnerable, are aware of the dangers of this scam. “Everyone in the borough can make use of the bogus caller hotline and we will investigate incidents of rogue trader
activity from anywhere in the borough.
“With the support of residents, we can stamp out doorstep crime in Dudley.”
