LEDBURY people will be hearing bells on May 8, to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
The Government has asked as many churches as possible to ring their bells in celebration, and the bellringers of Ledbury Parish Church, St Michael and All Angels, will be stepping up to the mark.
The Ledbury band of ringers will mark the occasion with a Quarter Peal of Stedman Triples at at 7.30pm on the day.
Anne Toussaint, secretary of the Ledbury Church Bellringers said: "Stedman Triples is a method named after its author Fabian Stedman who was baptised at Yarkhill, Herefordshire in 1640.
"We are very keen to let people know why the bells are being rung. The Quarter Peal will last for about an hour."
