A CO-OPERATIVE food store in Barnard’s Green, Malvern, has re-opened following a £375,000 investment to transform the store.
The store was opened by representatives of The Octagon Community Centre in Malvern where The Co-operative food store in Barnard’s Green Road donates groceries and colleagues volunteer their time.
The major makeover to the store has seen an enhanced bakery range and a "focus on fresh, healthy foods and essentials".
It also has an updated layout with new refrigeration enhancing its range of dairy, meat and chilled produce, and a Costa Express coffee dispenser has been installed.
The store now includes a community pioneer role, with staff members getting involved in community activities and fundraising projects
Sheila Preece, manager of the store in Barnard’s Green, said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in our store – the new format looks fantastic and it is an exciting time for the whole team.
“The Co-operative is a community retailer and is committed to transforming and growing its convenience business - investing to enhance the in-store experience for our customers while lowering the price of everyday essentials.
"I am confident that the new-look store will be an asset to the community, playing a real part in local life while enabling shoppers to pick up delicious food conveniently.”
