LUDLOW Cancer Support Group felt so strongly that more people could benefit from attending meetings that it is organising a series of coffee mornings in order to raise the Group’s profile!

Jack Andow and Dave Bissell arranged a very successful event at the Whitefriars Community Centre, off Sandpits Road in November and the next Coffee Morning takes place at St Peter’s Church in Henley Road, Ludlow, at 11.15 am on Friday, February 26.

“Dave will organise a ‘Bring and Buy ’Sale and we hope many members and supporters will join us for coffee, cake and conversation!” said Rosemary Wood, the group chairman.

A highlight of the Coffee Morning will be a display of tapestries made by Jack, who has sold numerous pieces over the years to raise money for charity.

The Ludlow Cancer Support Group aims to provide a sociable and welcoming environment where members can get to know each other and share experiences. The emphasis is on fun and friendship, but there are ample opportunities for deeper discussion, should members wish this.

They meet in the Parish Room of St Peter’s Church, Henley Road, Ludlow, from 11.00 – 12.45 on the second and fourth Fridays of each month.

Car parking is available, and the 2016 Programme of Events includes talks, poetry, painting, quizzes, jigsaws, Tai Chi, and pottery.

Membership is free to anyone diagnosed with cancer, regardless of how long ago the diagnosis was made. Friends, family and carers are welcome.
