A SUMMER cycle event in Clun has been recognised as the only one of its type in the region to have ‘friendly to women’ status.

Organizers of the charity cycle challenge the Tour d’Arts Alive, 2016 were thrilled to be the only sportive in the West Midlands to be recommended by British Cycling’s Breeze campaign as a ‘women-friendly’ event.

It’s hoped that the event will see women of all ages and backgrounds joining in the fun on Sunday, June 26 where it starts from Clun Memorial Hall.

The event is in support of the charity Arts Alive and its sister organisation, Flicks in the Sticks.

Working with professional cycling event company Rideventures, Tour d’Arts Alive hopes to be even more successful than last year, with three signed routes of 28, 45 and 68 miles, catering for participants of all abilities.

Cate Latchford, volunteer coordinator for the Tour said she is looking forward to the event that can be entered online at britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/138665/Tour-d'Arts-Alive
